Dan, now left on his own since Jackson's abduction, needs to find a job. He lands one at a small university as a professor in the Ass-Kicking and Name-Taking field in the Department of Philosophy at an old University. However, some strange things are going on, and two of the professors are sucked into a portal to hell. They return as demons and the Chancellor/Dean, Ash, tries to stop them. After being chased away once, Ash enlists Dan's aid in remembering how to get rid of demons. Dan remembers and Ash sets off to send back the hellspawn. All does not look good for our new hero as he seems to forget the words to the magical phrase. But then we fade to the future, and Ash is all right. Unfortunately, it turns out that he did not say the words correctly, and he must beat the crap out of the demon in order to finish the job.
