R.A.V.E. is ushering in a new era of evil from which none shall be spared. Created by foolish mortals in the year 1996, R.A.V.E. was founded as a satiric expository of sorts on violence, but lurched out of the hands of its creators and quickly hurtled those involved with the project into the cold recess of the Abyss. In its four year history R.A.V.E. has destroyed the lives, maimed the bodies, and devoured the souls of all those who attempted to control the entity. What is perhaps most sobering, however, is the claim of many prominent theologians that the abominable juggernaut that is called R.A.V.E. may still be but in its infancy...

History

Back in 1996, Mike Peterson (producer of the ill-fated SlackMasters) had an idea. The following school year he would produce an action show, the first action-oriented show in STV history. Along with his friend and a plucky young member of his crew, Harper Gordek, Mike set about working on it in April of 1996.

However, when the year began anew in August of 1996, Mike was overrun with boils and could not do the show anymore. Thus the responsibility of producer was thrust upon Harper Gordek. Unprepared for this job, Harper did his best to attract newcomers, but he was only successful in bringing in two people, Mark Andrews and Pete Shelton. Using these two and his only friends James Amler and Marianna Matthews, Harper altered the original idea of a team of heroes into a duo and went about filming the classic first episode "Dial 'M' for Mushrooms." During principal photography, Ward Rackley (deceased) was dragged into the mix, and everybody was pretty happy.

However, luck was not with our derring-do young crew, as Marianna and James both went to London the following semester under mysterious circumstances. Making do, the cast only managed one show the rest of the way. However, the following year R.A.V.E. was revived from destruction by the dark energies that converged upon the show and its cast. And so began the unholy metamorphosis...

What We Know So Far

With the surprising and inexplicable death of senior co-producer Ward Rackley, many thought the destruction of R.A.V.E. was inevitable. His producership not only carried R.A.V.E. through its most turbulent times, but allowed it to thrive, beginning with his first directed episode, "Apocalypse Tomorrow." With co-producer Rick Ward (missing), they created the most popular episode in STV history, "Shallow Rave." And so everyone thought the legacy of a great producing team was just beginning.

During the follow-up episode "Documentary of the Dead," however, Rick Ward mysteriously vanished after an accident on the set. This was during the summer of 1999...

Shortly thereafter a mysterious, solemn, and unkempt George Manis was found one night huddled outside the station doors in the middle of a torrential downpour. Claiming to have been called by some unknown force, George -a runaway since 13, heavy drug user since 15- said he walked for three days without sleep or food before arriving at Chapel Hill.

Taken under the wing of the prematurely aging Ward Rackley, George's transformation was nothing short of miraculous. Once disheveled and frightened, the new co-producer of R.A.V.E. became clean-cut and outgoing, and is currently the vice president of the Carolina Producers Guild. Some have rumored that George's transformation was somehow connected with unspeakable dealings with dark agents.

Perhaps knowing that his time of reckoning was nigh, it was in bizarre winter of 1999, when mankind was preparing celebrations for the year 2000, that it is said Ward and George set in motion events that would result in the summoning of the Dark Child of Evil, the Devil that Walks as a Man, Allen Henderson, to continue the fated legacy of R.A.V.E. after Ward surrendered his ghost to whatever dark contractors it might have been indebted...

But then Allen died too so it looks like Daniel Hooper and Andy Spain will have to take over. Both of them failed miserably, but paved the way for the great Dave Miller.
