The latest episode of R.A.V.E., "One Hundred Years of R.A.V.E.," will make its world premiere Wednesday, November 4. It is notable for being the first violent show on STV edited using the new Media 100. What a milestone. The show features clips from non-existent episodes such as "Red Hot Chili Dogs," "Buried Alive," "R.A.V.E.--The Motion Picture," and the never-before-seen trailer for the infamous "Amish Episode." So, in the words of the host, Peter J. Shelton, "sit back, pop a bowl of popcorn, crank up some Scandinavian death metal, and get ready to go !*@%ing nuts."

It's official--the new DV camera, the nonlinear editor, and the DV VTR have been ordered. Expect them October 9. Be aware that you will have to pass a short test to use the equipment. [EDITOR'S NOTE: October 9? BWA HAH HAH! I wonder what I was smoking when I wrote that; I bet it was good.]
"But Rick," you say, "what does this mean for the casual R.A.V.E. viewer such as myself?" It means higher quality video and better sound. And Lord knows we need that.

Well, it's back to school, and that means (as soon as we get some friggin' cameras) more savagery to entertain, delight, and occasionally torment YOU! You can catch R.A.V.E. in all its glory on Campus Cable channel 22 or Time Warner Cable 4, Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:30 pm and 11:00 pm and Thursdays at 5:30 pm. Sorry Carrboro folks, you can't watch us in the privacy of your own homes.
For those of you who wish to take a more active role in the daily death of innocents, STV's General Interest Meeting is August 25 at 7:00 pm in Hanes Art Center, room 121 (the big room on your left when you enter from the glass wall). Be there! Hey, even if you shudder at the mere possibility of thinking about R.A.V.E., there are other shows you might enjoy working on!

Take a gander at R.A.V.E.'s new web site! Neato, eh? The same content, but a little jazzed up. Oh, and now you can actually view it on Microsoft Internet Explorer. Now that R.A.V.E. is on sunsite, it won't be long before the end of civilization as we know it.
